To help boost sales of Pink Lady apples during the height of the variety’s season, Stemilt Growers Inc., Wenatchee, Wash., has rolled out a new pop-up display and point-of-sale materials.
“Pink Lady is at its peak of flavor during the winter months,” Roger Pepperl, marketing director, said in a news release. “The apple is great for fresh eating, resists browning when sliced and is a perfect addition to any gourmet recipe.”
The fruit’s characteristics make Pink Lady apples great items for retailers to promote around Valentine’s Day, he said.
The new display features the slogan, eating healthy, feeling good, and can hold up to 80 pounds of apples, according to the news release.
“By highlighting a few of the many health attributes apples provide, we hope that shoppers will be inclined to incorporate festive Pink Lady apples in their Valentine’s Day snacks or meals," Pepperl said in the release.
